Many of you have asked us about our long term travel plans over the next three and a half years. Yes, that’s how long we will be out of the US, unless some rich benefactor pays for our way home (hint, hint).
Our journey and reasons for this journey looks like this:
- April 13th–December 29th–We will be in Ghana working with a counseling group called Mobile Member Care Team (MMCT). Alan has the opportunity to train under them so that he can birth the same counseling team in Cameroon. He will be traveling across West and Central Africa counseling missionaries and their children. We are going to Ghana first instead of Switzerland because Ghana is an English speaking country and we did not want to lose our French.
- January 2010–We will be in Neuchatel, Switzerland learning and being immersed in French. This is because Cameroon is a French speaking (or Francophone) country.
- January 2011–If all goes to plan we will arrive in Yaounde, Cameroon in 2011 to begin the counseling work.
- 2012-13–We hope to be home on our first furlough. This will be a time where we get the joys of resting and reconnecting with you.
We look forward to keeping up with you during our journey and yours. Please let us know if you have questions about our itenerary
